Meet the trainer

Ariana Purtee

business Owner/professional dog Trainer

Ariana came into the dog world with an extensive background in working with horses and dogs. She began taking horse back riding lessons at age 9, gaining experience riding/working with 25 various breeds, ages, temperaments. Then later on rescued her very own horse, Missy, at age 13.

In Los Angeles, CA she had grown up around the family dogs and at age 10 she got her first personal dog, a little rescue terrier mix named Cooper. Cooper and Ariana shared an amazing strong bond with one another. Ariana taught Cooper the basic obedience commands on and off leash (sit, down, come, heel, place, etc) very quickly. Their true love for each other shined whenever she took Cooper out to do his favorite tricks! Cooper LOVED to skateboard, scooter, surf, close the door, play dead, jump through hoops, and more!

In highschool, Ariana started her own dog rescue where she took in unwanted dogs, rehabilitated them and found them forever homes! She loved the rewarding feeling of being able to take in an animal that was not treated kindly and show them what love and structure was, and find them a forever home that would continue to do the same.

Ariana had always knew she wanted to pursue a career caring for and training dogs. With hard work and dedication, she made those dreams a reality by starting her training career in 2012 at age 17. She was hired to work under Russian Professional Dog Trainer, Maxim Basyro, at Master Dog Training. Here she had the opportunity to learn his specific ways of the dog training business and his training methods. For two years, she worked under Master Dog Training and became a certified professional dog trainer under him in 2013. Ariana then went on to working as a dog trainer for Canyon View Ranch in 2014. There she learned another side of the dog training business, and even got the opportunity to work with many celebrities beloved dogs. After about one year at Canyon View Ranch, she decided she would utilize her experience and build upon them to create her own professional dog care and training business. At the start of 2015, A Purtee Pack was born!

Living and training in the beautiful dog friendly state of Colorado has always been apart of Ariana’s vision. In December 2019, Ariana decided to follow her dreams of leaving Los Angeles, CA and moved her business to Colorado Springs, CO where she now helps Coloradans and their beloved canine companions learn how to safely live life off leash!

Ariana’s passion does not stop at just pet obedience training, on her spare time, she competes in Rally Obedience with Legacy, her Border Collie, already earning up to their Rally Excellent Title. Their work together also includes Heelwork to Music, Disc Dog, Dock Diving, Lure Coursing, Herding and Agility. They love to perform stunts and tricks for others to enjoy and have even earned up to their Performer Trick title as well as Legacy has passed all three Canine Good Citizen tests!

She is also working hard with Fury, her Belgian Malinois. Fury is training towards competing in Mondio (Protection Sport), Field Trials (AKC Hunt Sport) and is currently competing in Dock Diving and Disc Dog! She loves to perform stunts and tricks, earning up to their Performer Trick Title as well as Fury has passed all three Canine Good Citizen tests!

Ariana knows that when it comes to dog training, not one size fits all, and that with each new dog comes a custom training plan and a new experience. This is why she continues to perfect her craft by keeping up with mordern research in the dog training field.
